This August, the Redland Foundation went Western. The annual tradition of the Cowboy After Hours event was passed on to the Redland Foundation. The event gathers organizations and donors together to raise money for the Douglas County 4-H Junior Livestock auction. All proceeds are given to the Douglas County Fair Foundation through the bidding process at auction.
This event is one that we are fond of as is it promotes the strong values that come with raising an animal and becoming an early entrepreneur. Kid who participate in the auction usually spend the entire year getting their animals ready for this big event! The auction coincides with the annual Douglas County Fair, which is full of fun activities, including the rodeo.
We are thankful that so many companies could come together to and raise money for such a rewarding cause. Overall, with the help of our donors Redland Foundation raised $50,000 and all of it was used in auction. We look forward to next Summer as we continue not only grow this event but our Foundation as well.
