The Redland Foundation gathered volunteers and headed to Denver for the Annual Spring Community Day. Community Day began in the early days of Redland, and was always a priority for the company to get involved in the community. Since then, the Redland Foundation has been formed and taken on the responsibility of being even more active in the community.
Partnering with Third Way Center once again, the team worked on their Lincoln apartment’s location. This location is used to house older adolescents who are participating in Third Way’s Transitional Living Program. The program encourages participants to work on their life skills, including but not limited to; budgeting, meal prep, and career building. A 24/7 therapeutic staff is onsite to coordinate mental health treatment and assist with the simulated apartment living.
Volunteers were eager to get started and broke off into four teams to cover more ground. We helped do deep clean for several apartments, the main gathering space, and the front office. Other teams were tasked with applying a fresh coat of paint where needed, and building new furniture to fill the rooms.
It was a successful first official Community Day for the Redland Foundation, the first of many. Working together to benefit such an important cause such as Third Way’s is the reason the Foundation was started. Together we can accomplish so much, and we are excited to take on even more projects moving forward.
